Summer Reading

Summer  Reading Assignments for students entering grades 1-9 are linked below. Choice is an essential component of our summer reading recommendations, with the primary goal of encouraging a love of reading. The summer reading list offers several book and author suggestions for each grade level. Although the upper elementary and middle school students have a required book related to an academic activity in the fall, the variety of additional choices provides opportunities to explore genres, authors, and foster an appreciation for reading. The suggested reading lists are not an exclusive list of titles or authors; those who encounter other books or authors they enjoy reading are encouraged to read away! -- for at least for 20 minutes daily.  Additionally, to the right side of this page, parents will find a short list of thought-provoking titles that may be of interest as well.
