Director of Development
Title: Director of Development
Position Overview: Park City Day School, an intimate, independent Preschool-Grade 8 school located in Park City, UT, seeks an experienced, creative, passionate, and enthusiastic development professional to join our team as a Director of Development for 2023-24 school year. The Director of Development works closely with the Head of School and the Board of Trustees to provide leadership for the development program as it builds a strong culture of philanthropy throughout the school and broader community. The goal of the Director of Development is to design and implement giving programs that attract the maximum gift support possible to the institution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Establish and execute forward-thinking development/advancement and strategic programs that optimally grow the annual, major, and capital campaigns; legacy gifts; and planned giving.

Oversee all aspects of the development program, including fundraising, leading the annual giving program, guiding the feasibility of a capital campaign, soliciting corporate and foundation proposals; creating a strong alumni association, and special development events.

Identify, research, and spearhead the implementation of a diverse and multifaceted fundraising program to support the school’s strategic vision, cultivating a culture of giving and gratitude across all constituencies and socio-economic strata.

Collaborate on PR initiatives and marketing and communications to create/produce fundraising-related communication materials to expand and enhance the school’s visibility and reputation.

Identify corporate and foundational funding opportunities and help draft grant applications.

Strengthen relationships with the school’s alumni and further develop alumni programming.

Personally solicit major donors.

Enhance existing relationships while building new relationships, systems, and programs that further tap into the generosity and resources of the community.

Maintain a database of all contributors and provide development reports as required.

Manage the development budget.

Coordinate the school’s volunteerism efforts and track volunteer hours.

Nurture and maintain a highly collaborative relationship with the Head of School, the Board Chair, and individual board members, supporting them in all their fundraising responsibilities, and accompanying them on donor visits when appropriate.

School Counselor
Title: School Counselor
Position Overview: Park City Day School, an intimate, independent Preschool-Grade 8 school located in Park City, UT, seeks an experienced, creative, passionate, and enthusiastic School Counselor to join our team for the 2023-24 school year. Depending on the candidate, this position could be full or part-time and possibly coupled with other responsibilities.
We challenge our students to explore their environment and seek out meaningful experiences outside of the classroom--which is why you will often find us on the ski slopes, hiking or exploring the world through our experiential education trips. We also recognize the importance of making strong relationships with teachers and peers, and encourage our students to build lasting relationships that strengthen their sense of community. So while academics are important, we believe in a holistic approach to education--one that involves fostering creativity, curiosity and meaningful connections.
A successful candidate is expected to demonstrate ability in the following areas:
● Communicate effectively with all stakeholders (teachers, administration, parents)
● Establish relationships with outside student/family support resources in an effort to provide responsive services

Responsibilities Include:
● Coordinates Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum planning and implementation (Strive for Five) via a highly collaborative relationship with all faculty and staff

Work in partnership with the Learning Specialist to create student support plans

Improve students communication and social skills; Assess student emotional and behavioral needs; Provide individual and group counseling; Promote problem solving, anger management and conflict resolution; Reinforce positive coping skills and resilience; Promote positive peer relationships and social problem solving.

Advise and coach faculty and staff in regards to student individual therapeutic needs, the psychosocial curriculum, and psychosocial clinical best practices; collaborate with faculty, staff, and other clinicians to determine the best approach for each student.

Develop and maintain clear, accurate, and timely documentation including records on all counseling/support work. Communicate necessary information about records and testing with teachers, parents, and outside providers as needed and appropriate.

Coordinate and consult with outside professionals to support students (e.g., tutors, PT and OT therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, etc.). Maintain and update referral list of health professionals and community resources for school staff and parents.
-
Identify and use clear protocols and processes for assessing and supporting students in need, students in transition and safety concerns.
-
Provide risk assessments with necessary supervision and provide crisis counseling to students and families, as necessary. Engage in mandated reporting.
-
Provide culturally affirming support to historically marginalized groups including: students of color, LGBTQ+ and gender expansive populations, and students of all abilities. Ensure that consultative and educational practices are sensitive to the needs and experiences of the community, including socioeconomic status, gender identity and expression, sexuality, race, ethnicity, religion, or country of origin.

Maintains solid, frequent and effective communication with parents, colleagues, and administration.

Participates in staff meetings, retreats, and on various committees to support the overall mission of the school.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree in Psychology with a focus in school counseling

For candidates who are Psychologists, current State of UT License will be required for those who reach the finalist stage of the hiring process

Compensation:
This is an exempt, full time position. Starting salary in the $60,000 range depending on experience and the possibility of taking on additional roles.

Title: Custodian
Position Overview: Park City Day School, a small, independent PS-Grade 8 school located in Park City, UT, seeks an experienced custodian to join our team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan and organize custodial services including minor preventative maintenance.

Perform routine custodial activities; sweep, scrub, mob, wax & polish floors; vacuum rugs & carpets of site facilities; spot clean and shampoo carpets
-
Clean classrooms, cafeterias, gymnasium, lounges, offices, hallways and other facilities as assigned; empty waste receptacles; spot mop spills; remove gum, debris, etc.

Assist in minor maintenance repair work such as painting, plumbing and other projects as assigned.

Operate, maintain & repair various types of custodial/grounds equipment (i.e. vacuum cleaner, power washer, snow blower, etc.)

Monitor and maintain inventory levels of custodial supplies; distribute and replenish supplies & materials as directed; maintain various records related to inventory and custodial activities

Assist with ice and snow removal

Lead and participate in the thorough cleaning and restoration of campus during summer and school break periods.
