Early School - 1st Grade Spanish Teacher (Part-Time/ Full-Time potential)
Position Overview: Park City Day School, a small, independent PS–Grade 8 school located in Park City, UT, seeks a passionate, creative, and energetic educator to join our team as a Part-Time Spanish Teacher (part-time), or who may also serve as an Apprentice Teacher (bringing the role to full-time). This role is ideal for an educator eager to inspire a love of Spanish language and culture in young learners while gaining hands-on classroom experience in a collaborative school environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Spanish Language Instruction
- Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate Spanish instruction for students in Early School through First Grade;
- Incorporate song, speaking, listening, reading, and cultural exploration into lessons to foster language acquisition;
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists to support cross-curricular integration of Spanish language and culture;
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners;
- Apprentice Teaching Responsibilities
- Assist a Lead Teacher with all aspects of a lower school classroom environment;
Work with small groups and individual students to reinforce learning across subject areas; - Support the development of lesson plans including instructional objectives, activities, and assessments;
- Provide classroom support including supervision, transitions, and student engagement;
Demonstrate flexibility in supporting various classroom settings, outdoor activities, and school events;
- Assist a Lead Teacher with all aspects of a lower school classroom environment;
- Community Engagement and Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in the school community including collaboration meetings, weekly faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and special events;
- Support implementation of classroom management practices aligned with the PCDS “Strive for Five” values to foster a respectful and inclusive environment;

- Requirements:
- Proficiency in Spanish (native or near-native fluency preferred);
- Experience working with groups of children in an organized setting;
- Demonstrated understanding of child development, particularly in early childhood and elementary education;
- Demonstrated willingness to be creative and bring engaging, culturally rich activities into the classroom;
- Evidence of strong organizational skills, oral communication, and interpersonal skills;

General Qualifications:

Middle School Student Support Specialist (Immediate Opening)
Position Overview
The Student Support Specialist provides targeted small-group and individual support, consults with teachers on differentiation and accommodations, and contributes to the school’s multi-tiered system of support (MTSS).
Key Responsibilities
Student Support & Intervention
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 literacy support for middle school students
- Support students with organization, study skills, time management, and self-advocacy
- Facilitate small-group skill-building sessions and short-term targeted interventions
- Monitor student progress and adjust supports as needed
- Support students and families in our Winter Flex program
Social-Emotional & Behavioral Support
- Collaborate with counselors, advisors, and teachers to support students’ social-emotional well-being
- Help students develop strategies for self-regulation, resilience, and problem-solving
- Support transitions, peer relationships, and school engagement
Collaboration & Consultation
- Partner with classroom teachers to support differentiation, accommodations, and inclusive practices
- Participate in student support meetings, MTSS discussions, and problem-solving teams
- Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and strategies
- Help oversee the Winter Flex program for middle school students and families
Documentation & Systems
- Maintain clear records of interventions, progress monitoring, and support plans
- Contribute to student support documentation in alignment with independent-school practices
- Support smooth transitions between grade levels and divisions as appropriate
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in education, special education, school counseling, literacy, or related field preferred
- Knowledge of evidence-based reading interventions and instruction, and writing instruction across content areas (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or LETRS training preferred)
- Experience delivering academic literacy support to students in a small group setting
- Experience working with middle school students in an academic or support role
- Knowledge of learning differences, executive-functioning development, and adolescent social-emotional growth
- Familiarity with MTSS frameworks, accommodations, and progress monitoring
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range of $50,000-$70,000 for 10 months plus benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience. Independent-school benefits may include professional development support, health benefits, and tuition remission (if applicable).

Student Success Coordinator
Position Overview:
Park City Day School, a small, independent PS-Grade 8 school located in Park City, UT, seeks a passionate, creative, and energetic educator to join our team for the 2025-26 school year as a Student Support Coordinator.
Essential Duties:
- Communicate regularly and proactively with students, caregivers, and colleagues, and contribute positively to the overall school culture while fulfilling duties as assigned.
- Develop Student Support Plans for academic and behavioral goals, host meetings, and communicate those to key stakeholders.
- Manage the Enrichment Specialist and any third party tutors on campus.
- Organize the MTSS system and work directly with Tier 3 students
- Collaborate with teachers to improve delivery of Tier 2 instruction
- Instruct literacy interventions in small groups and through push-in support.
- Help teachers to differentiate the curriculum, screen students, provide consultation and support to faculty.
- With help from division heads, manage assessment times throughout the year including DIBELS and MAP
- Organize, proctor, and interpret admission testing for prospective students
- Collaborate weekly with School Based Social Worker to adequately address staff and student needs
Qualifications:
- A degree in Special Education or equivalent in experience; Master’s is preferred
- Experience working with students with Language-Based Learning Disabilities in reading and writing as well as math
- Ability to administer basic screenings, progress monitoring, and benchmark testing to gather information about how best to support students and make recommendations for a more comprehensive evaluation when merited
- Experience with direct, explicit, multi-sensory, structured literacy teaching methods (e.g., Orton-Gillingham or Wilson Reading System)
- Proven ability to modify instruction and materials to accommodate various student learning profiles
- Proficiency and interest in technology to support differentiated learning
- Experience providing parents and teachers with guidance and resources
- Experience managing MTSS systems within a school, interest in expanding the MTSS and educating teachers
- Experience with behavioral student support preferred.
